QC - Lumber Grader Inspector

Job Summary
Conduct live production audits and make records of quality findings for hardwood lumber in accordance with NHLA grading standards and proprietary customer requirements. Stop production activities immediately when product does not meet industry or customer specifications. Learn general and species-specific aspects of inspecting lumber while working alongside a team of three to four inspectors. Assist in downstream packaging requirements, production setup procedures, and yard projects as necessary. Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. This role supports the Kiln Dried Lumber operation at Clendenin Lumber Co., located in Donald's SC, with all training completed in-house.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in production quality inspection
- Must be self motivated and organized
- Exceptional negotiation and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Basic computer skills
- Familiarity with NHLA grading standards
- Familiarity with proprietary customer requirements
- Knowledge of Federal and NY State Labor Laws
