Job Summary
Inspect product and process in Lamination, Small Parts, and P.I. areas to verify parts adhere to cosmetic standards, compliance rules, and hardcopy specifications. Identify defects in fiberglass and gel coat surfaces, including air, voids, stress cracks, and porosity, while auditing process adherence for foam injection and bonding structures. Enter all findings into the QC2 system and collaborate with Production to identify improvement opportunities and determine solutions. Requires high school diploma, three years of marine industry experience, and proficiency in understanding prints and drawings. Must be flexible to work extended hours and possess strong physical stamina for lifting, standing, and bending.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Technical competence in multiple disciplines of boat building
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the marine industry
- Proficiency in understanding prints and drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Flexibility to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business
- Ability to lift, stand, stoop, walk, bend, and climb stairs
- Desire to work safely and report all hazards to the supervisor or manager immediately
- Understanding of basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment where designated
- Ability to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, standing, etc.
- Ability to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices
- Ability to understand equipment operating instructions
- Ability to understand documented safety management systems
- Ability to understand health and safety requirements
- Ability to understand the General Safety Rules
- Ability to understand the Individual Safety Commitment
