Job Summary
Verify outbound orders against picking tickets to ensure correct product, quantity, pallet build, and customer accuracy. Perform quality inspections on shipments for damage, temperature, and label correctness while confirming FIFO/FEFO rotation and expiration dates. Document inspection results, maintain accurate records with photographs, and report discrepancies to the Shipping Supervisor immediately. Coordinate with pickers and supervisors to resolve errors, place damaged items on hold, and conduct random audits to monitor picking accuracy. Maintain a clean QC area following all food safety, HACCP, and workplace safety procedures. Complete inspections efficiently to minimize incorrect shipments and assist in investigating customer complaints.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to accurately count products and verify quantities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, kneel, and squat throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in refrigerated warehouse environments when required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shipping environment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous warehouse or produce experience
- Previous Quality Control or Shipping experience
- Knowledge of produce grading and quality standards
- Understanding of FIFO/FEFO inventory practices
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or RF scanners
