Job Summary
Conduct transcription, translation, and interpretation of non-technical material between English and SCRL languages to support military interrogations, intelligence collection, and operational missions. Provide cultural and ethnic context for translations and interpretations, offering expert linguist opinions on the intent of terms with multiple valid meanings. Perform document exploitation, scanning, research, and analysis of foreign language documents and intercepted data to extract information meeting military criteria, supplementing work with knowledge in medicine, science, engineering, or legal fields. Requires US citizenship, ILR level 3 proficiency, two years of translation experience, and in-depth geopolitical knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Minimum (2) years' experience of interpretation / translation
- Interagency Language Round Table (ILR) level 3 in both Target Language and English
- Document exploitation skills
- In-depth geo-political knowledge
