Job Summary
Perform routine analytical testing on canola seed, oil, and meal products, including preparing chemical reagents, operating laboratory instrumentation, and conducting minor troubleshooting. Accurately record test data using computerized systems, communicate results to supervisors, and complete certificates of analysis before product shipment. Maintain product samples, calibrate equipment, and ensure a clean, safe laboratory environment while adhering to regulatory and food safety standards. Occasional Saturday work may be required. This role supports production and quality assurance at the combined Bunge and Viterra facility, ensuring essential food and feed products meet customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of related laboratory, quality assurance, or analytical testing experience
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations and interpret test results
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with computerized data entry and laboratory systems
- Ability to conduct sensory analysis and evaluate product quality
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance
- Routine use of a respirator
- Must be able to work safely in a laboratory and industrial production environment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree (2-year college or technical program) in Science or a related field
