Job Summary
Tag bulk product containers and pallets according to department policy. Sample bulk and finished products to perform attribute grade analysis based on USDA criteria. Verify microbial presence and tolerance by sampling products and facilities. Audit production processes including cutting, blanching, and freezing operations. Verify proper function of key plant systems such as blanching, freezing, sanitizing, and chlorination systems. Communicate variances and excessive tolerances to supervisory personnel. Comply with all safety policies and report unsafe activities. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- three to six months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Basic personal computer skills
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English
