Job Summary
Monitor sanitary conditions, perform pre-operational and operational inspections, and collect product samples throughout the poultry production process. Accurately record findings during verification and pre-shipment checks, generate daily QA documentation, and assist USDA inspectors as required. Support Production by developing and implementing corrective actions for quality, food safety, or sanitation concerns. Ensure finished products meet company standards and comply with HACCP, SSOP, and GMP procedures. Work the 2nd shift in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to 50 pounds and tolerating varying heat and chill conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of experience in poultry production
- Must be able to read and write English
- Verbal communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly
- Excellent reading comprehension and writing skills, including good grammar and spelling
- Strong analytical ability and math skills
- Ability to organize, plan, and complete work in a timely manner
- Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision at times
- Ability to follow directions from a lead, supervisor, and manager
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to accurately complete Quality Assurance documentation
- Ability to support HACCP, SSOP, GMP, sanitation, food safety, and quality requirements
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions within the plant
- Color vision corrected to 20/20
- Ability to write notes in English
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment
- Verification of employment eligibility must be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work
Desired Qualifications
- Labeling experience
- Bilingual ability
- Prior Quality Assurance experience in poultry processing, food processing, manufacturing, or production
- Experience performing inspections, collecting samples, completing pre-operational or operational checks, or supporting corrective actions
- Experience working with USDA inspectors or regulatory requirements in a production environment
