Job Summary
Conduct product quality inspections including first article, in process, receiving, roving, and final checks while maintaining ISO 9001 system documentation and accuracy. Complete inspection reports, process shop routers, and identify improvement opportunities in floor activities. Maintain organized records and participate actively in Lean initiatives. Work Monday through Thursday from 5:00am to 3:30pm with on-call Fridays and overtime as needed. Perform duties in a shop environment with moderate noise and exposure to dust, heat, and cold, requiring the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year inspection experience in a precision sheet metal and/or machining environment
- Good math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Good ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Good computer skills including Word and Excel
- Good communications skills, verbal and written
- Strong ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring devices
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids)
- This position will require drug testing per company policy
- Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm - On call Fridays (OT)
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate with some college preferred (emphasis in engineering, math or related field)
- Additional math skills in algebra, geometry and trigonometry
- Good flat pattern layout ability
- Knowledge of ISO requirements
- Experience in precision sheet metal production work
- Knowledge of machining processes and inspection
- Computer skilled in the use of CAD systems, Word and Excel, Solid Works
