Job Summary
Coordinate daily activities and workflow for Quality Assurance Technicians while supervising their performance and providing training. Evaluate quality system programs, oversee food safety implementation, and review HACCP, SSOP, and other records for compliance. Assist with new product commercialization, conduct sensory and texture evaluations, and act as liaison to USDA personnel. Resolve product inconsistencies, investigate out-of-specification results, and ensure appropriate corrective actions. Provide guidance, coaching, and disciplinary action to QA employees while ensuring staffing coverage throughout the shift. Work 2nd shift hours in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, standing or walking 50% of the time in fluctuating temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in food science, other related field, or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in a related role within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of USDA regulations and quality assurance procedures
- Knowledge of SPC, SSOP, and SOP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborate with multiple departments
- 50% of time will be spent standing/walking in cold conditions
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business and production needs require
- Able to withstand walking and standing 40% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment
- Frequent exposure to fluctuating temperatures, including cold and heat, depending on the production environment
- Frequent exposure to operational noise from machinery in the production environment
