Job Summary
QA Specialist Level II (2nd shift) is responsible for monitoring products and employee practices on the manufacturing floor to ensure safety and quality of products manufactured by Georgia Nut Company. Primary responsibilities include reporting food safety and quality problems; performing in-process QA inspections; daily scale checks; placing materials on hold as needed; conducting metal detector checks and audits; changeover validation and sanitation-related testing; environmental swabbing; yearly allergen validation; maintaining QA supplies inventory; preparing retain samples; conducting internal plant audits; training new QA staff; generating maintenance work requests; shutting down lines for serious safety issues; and documenting QA activity. Required knowledge and skills include a high school diploma (college preferred), at least 1 year QA/QC or operational experience in food manufacturing, basic math, strong organization and time management, attention to detail, and good written and oral communication skills.
