QA Specialist

QA Specialist will observe and monitor raw materials, in-process products and finished products to ensure compliance with all laws, policies, and standards governing food safety and product quality. The role, salaried and considered an extension of the management team, requires reporting of food safety issues, maintaining quality records, ensuring customer specifications are met, and supporting internal audits, GMP walkthroughs, and plant observations. Responsibilities include conducting basic biological and laboratory testing, performing quality checks on bakery products, and contributing to ongoing quality initiatives and training to uphold SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards. The position emphasizes problem-solving related to quality requirements, data recording (weights, temperatures, pH, moisture, water activity, color, and other quality checks), and maintaining product on hold procedures as needed. It requires dependability, safety adherence per OSHA procedures, and the ability to work in a noisy, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment, including standing/walking for long periods and potential overtime. Location: Cincinnati, OH; in-person work with a full-time schedule on 3rd shift (11:00 pm–7:30 am) with weekend OT as needed.
