QA Software Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct functional, application, and regression tests to ensure software deployed to Production is defect free. Build regression test cases for automation and create end-to-end test plans and scripts covering functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility. Review requirements with Business Analysts and vendors to develop test cases, while identifying issues and escalating risks as appropriate. Plan, monitor execution, and report defects with defined severity to the appropriate individuals. Requires 5+ years of QA experience, strong knowledge of QA processes, and familiarity with property and casualty insurance solutions. Work in a fast-paced environment with bi-weekly releases, utilizing advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Required Qualifications
- Good level of understanding property and casualty insurance solutions
- 5 years+ of QA testing experience
- Strong knowledge of QA processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with releases coming every two weeks
- Attention to detail
- Very strong communication skills, must articulate defects and provide strong documentation to support the same
- Ability to work independently while keeping teammates apprised of progress
- Strong on initiative, ambitious and creative problem solver
- Goals oriented with can-do attitude
- Has both the intent and drive to grasp and work with new technologies at relatively short notice
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Understanding of the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Clear written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong critical-thinking skills
- Creative, adaptive problem solver
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and SharePoint
