Job Summary
Conduct QC on shop fabrication by inspecting work against specifications, drawings, and creating QC documents. Apply resins and perform fiberglass layup, rollout, and spool fitting including squaring, cutting, and two-holing. Maintain calibrated shop equipment logs and ensure all personnel use proper PPE while working in confined spaces, climbing scaffolding, and lifting 50–100 lbs. Must work the second shift and pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening. Requires five years of fiberglass experience, a valid driver's license, and knowledge of catalyzed resins and thermoplastics.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen
- MS Office and network utilization knowledge
- 5 Years of Fiberglass Experience
- Must be able to work 2nd shift
- Able to lift 50-100 lbs
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, etc.
- Work in confined spaces
- The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation
- The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required
- Must be safety oriented and align with Thorpe safety culture
- Knowledge of properly catalyzed, mix resins
- Knowledge of properly grind/surface prep., layup, rollout
- Knowledge of basic pipe squaring, cutting, fitting, 2-holing of spools
- Knowledge of application of resins in accordance with specifications and procedures
- Knowledge of thermoplastics and dual laminate
- Track and keep up to date all calibrated equipment in the shop
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required of all employees
