Job Summary

Implement and maintain the Corporate Quality Management Program across all business areas to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and governmental requirements from project commencement through closeout. Expand standard operating procedures and processes while assisting in the creation of project-specific Quality Management Plans and developing metrics to review quality execution trends. Manage a team of Quality Managers to execute reporting tasks, conduct random site evaluations with follow-ups, and create mechanisms for sharing best practices across project teams. Act as a resource for field operations regarding Federal and State regulatory requirements, develop training curricula for all staff and subcontractors, and represent Suffolk with Owners, Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, and vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Management or demonstrated equivalent field
  • 5 plus years of experience in related construction fields
  • Solid understanding of means and methods of construction
  • Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry
  • Working knowledge of national and State code and quality regulations/standards
  • Candidate must possess Suffolk Construction's core values: passion, integrity, hard work and professionalism

  • Must have judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command

  • Able to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between Suffolk Construction project needs and non-critical review of incomplete work assignments while maintaining excellent customer relations
  • Excellent management skills to effectively manage subcontractor performance to high quality
  • A strong sense of urgency and initiative, and the ability to quickly study and react to complex issues, and resolve conflict effectively in a firm but fair manner
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage the many details necessary for successful construction
  • Must possess effective and strong communication skills
  • The ability to become part of a team and embraces the team concept
  • Accurate with an attention to detail
