Job Summary
QA/QC Inspector role based in Vancouver, BC within our BC Utilities Division. You will oversee both field and office QA/QC activities, develop and manage quality assurance programs for the region, educate leadership on quality improvements, monitor deviations from specifications, ensure supplier/subcontractor conformance, drive continuous improvement, and prepare formal quality management documents (manuals, policies, procedures, plans, checklists, records) to meet regulator, client, and internal needs. The role requires strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills with a focus on preventing defects and ensuring timely, accurate quality delivery across project execution. The position involves travel to various site locations as required by operations.
Required Qualifications
- Degree of Diploma in Civil / Electrical Engineering or Technologist, or Construction Management or Red Seal Journeyman with 2+ years of office experience
- 5-7 years of QA/QC Experience in implementing Quality Programs and interfacing with client(s)
- 5-7 years in a similar QA/QC Inspector role
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Quality Inspector Certification (ASQ)
- Knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, CSA, and ASTM codes
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
- Construction Safety Certifications including Confined Space Awareness/Rescue, Fall Arrest, WHMIS
- Experience preparing final turnover packages for clients, including collecting O&M manuals, test reports, as‐built documentation, and other closeout deliverables
- WHMIS
- First Aid
- Ground Disturbance Certification
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and client specifications
