Job Summary
Conduct mechanical inspections of components, assemblies, and enclosures, including first article, receiving, in-process, and final checks to ensure compliance before production. Generate precise CMM programs and reports by interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and travelers, while auditing quality control processes for standard adherence. Analyze data to produce statistical reports on CPK and SPC, and develop inspection techniques to support Level 1, 2, and 3 inspectors. Perform reverse engineering to transform existing products into electronic data and evaluate solid models against blueprints for discrepancies. Interface with engineering, suppliers, and customers on quality issues, and attend NPI activities to determine CMM program adequacy and analyze potential failure modes. Requires 10+ years in production with 5+ years in CMM programming; full-time role in Singapore with occasional out-of-town travel.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/equivalent
- 10+ years working in production environment in the same and/or related industry
- 5+ years CMM programming (Full time) experience
- Must be able to read and apply production instructions, drawings, BOM schematics, and specifications at an expert level
- Expert using all handheld tools (micrometers, calipers, Other)
- Ability to climb, stoops, kneels, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull and grasp
- Ability to stand for sustained periods of time
- Ability to exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Ability to move arms, hands and fingers
- Required to have visual acuity to perform assigned tasks
- Required to wear personal protective equipment
- Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemicals and debris
- Required to have visual acuity to perform assigned tasks
- Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting)
Desired Qualifications
- Some technician coursework/AA degree preferred
- ASQ (American Standard of Quality) certification preferred
- Able to make suggestions for process development a plus
- Able to program Laser Tracker (Portable CMM) experience a plus
- Mitutoyo and/or Zeiss CMM programming previous experience a plus
- Programming on/offline experience a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and database software
- Must be computer literate!
- Expert math abilities
- Expert level for mechanical measurement techniques and workmanship standards related to machining
- Strong knowledge of secondary processes such as: paint, power coat, plating, etc.
- Must be able to read and interpret with weld symbols, callouts, wiring and/or crimping requirements
- Must be able to calculate flat patterns and inspect precision sheet metal
