Job Summary
QA Inspector at Westlake Dimex responsible for performing laboratory tests on finished products (lawn edging, paver, dock edging, matting and chair mats) and conducting visual inspections and dimensional checks across manufacturing stages. Evaluates materials, packaging, and products to ensure Dimex standards are met, supports Marketing/Sales/Product Development via approved lab requests, leads in resolving quality-related issues, participates in production trials, and communicates issues to quality and production supervisors. Role emphasizes adherence to safety procedures, collaboration in a fast-paced team, and contributing to continuous improvement in a plastic extrusion and compounding environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Associate degree or applicable experience preferred
- Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English
- Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply these skills to weights, measures of volume, speed, and distance
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English one-on-one and in small group situations
- Must be competent in computer and PC data entry
- Must have problem solving skills and some mechanical aptitude
- Must have strong Excel and Word skills
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment in QA Lab
- Ability to use statistical methods for monitoring and charting
