Job Summary
Conduct nondestructive examinations of cryogenic components and vacuum jacketed piping using visual, dye penetrant, hydrostatic, pneumatic, and helium mass spectrometer leak testing methods. Inspect weld fit-ups, joints, and completed weldments against blueprints and internal quality criteria specifications. Complete required test records, assist with document control, and maintain measurement devices within the calibration program. Handle multiple tasks with efficiency while maintaining testing equipment and work areas. Must read Jaeger II charts and pass color vision tests; U.S. citizenship required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum HS diploma or GED
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Ability to read the equivalent of the size and letters of the Jaeger II chart at a minimum distance of 12 inches and distinguish and differentiate the contrasts between colors illustrated on an Ishihara Test Chart
