QA/FOOD SAFETY SUPERINTENDENT

Job Summary
Manage assigned personnel through goal setting, coaching, and direct supervision while ensuring all company policies and safety rules are followed. Monitor quality by verifying product specifications, conducting random supplier audits, and performing plant inspections to ensure defect-free output. Liaise with Production Management, customers, and the USDA to resolve problems, address feedback, and ensure regulatory label compliance. Lead third-party audits, formulate corrective actions, and verify that technicians maintain proper documentation and perform required temperature checks. Complete administrative tasks accurately and assume other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Certification Required: HACCP
- Minimum of 5 years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
- Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers
- Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their work days
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field preferred but not required
- Certification Preferred: FSMA
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
