QA Engineer

Job Summary
Design and implement exploratory, manual, and automated tests while debugging and defining corrective actions to ensure top product quality. Analyze and report test activities, updating issues in bug tracking tools and collaborating with developers to resolve defects. Generate test cases, write and maintain automated scripts in Java or Python, and participate in feature design and planning. Define and improve testing practices within the software development lifecycle, inspect production issues, and execute REST API testing using Postman. This role supports TransPerfect's product development process from prototype to product in Hanoi, requiring 3-5 years of QA experience and strong scripting skills.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a QA-related role
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Java or Python
- General understanding of the software development process
- Bachelor's degree in computer software (or related field) or equivalent work experience
- Analytical and research skills
- A passion for high-quality

- Willingness to learn
- Understanding of test automation frameworks and design patterns
- Knowledge of OOP and either Java or Python
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English
- Experience with manual testing
- Ability to understand and execute REST API testing using Postman or similar tools
- Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and a test-management tool such as Testiny
- Hands-on experience working within an Agile development lifecycle
- Experience in automated testing
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with a UI automation framework such as Playwright
- Basic understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases
- Experience with a defect tracking tool
- Experience applying AI tools to speed up testing and improve productivity
- Experience with cross-platform functional testing solutions and frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket

- Experience tracing issues and working with log tools such as ELK
