Job Summary

QA Engineer - Technical Investigation & Automation responsible for owning the technical side of QA including test architecture, automation frameworks, API test suites, deep-dive investigations, and reliable testing infrastructure at scale. Conducts API/integration/E2E testing, investigates complex defects, reads logs and traces to identify root causes, develops API-level tests using Python-based tooling (Robot Framework + Requests), evolves automation architecture as the platform grows, creates test data tooling, and collaborates with DevOps to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines. Requires strong automation background, scripting proficiency (Python preferred), REST API expertise, experience with test frameworks, Linux comfort, logs analysis, and familiarity with CI/CD and distributed systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of software testing experience with a strong emphasis on automation and technical investigation
  • Hands-on experience with at least one scripting or programming language (Python strongly preferred; JavaScript, Java, or Go also relevant)
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs - ability to read an API contract, construct requests, validate responses, and write tests that cover edge cases
  • Experience with a test automation framework - Robot Framework, Pytest, Mocha, or similar
  • Comfortable in a Linux/Unix environment; proficient at the command line
  • Ability to read and interpret application logs, stack traces, and HTTP traffic
  • Experience with a test management system (TestRail, Zephyr, Jira, or similar)
  • Experience working across microservices
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts (async messaging, eventual consistency)
  • Soft skills: ownership, clear communication, independent work style
  • Bonus: Robot Framework and Requests Library or Selenium Library; Kubernetes; Elasticsearch; vehicle logistics familiarity
  • Exposure to performance/load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Locust)
  • Familiarity with workflow/messaging systems (Camunda, ActiveMQ)
  • Willingness to work in Tempe, AZ hybrid arrangement
