QA Engineer - Mortgage

Job Summary
QA Engineer to own end-to-end UI/test workflows for mortgage origination software. You’ll test real loan scenarios across core product surfaces, build and maintain regression test suites (manual and lightweight automation with Playwright/Cypress), and write clear, reproducible bug reports to help engineers fix issues quickly. You’ll collaborate with Engineering and Product to shape features so they’re testable and ship-ready, and you’ll help define QA playbooks and release checklists. The role emphasizes mortgage-operations experience, familiarity with loan-originations systems (e.g., Encompass, Empower, Byte), and a proactive, process-oriented approach. Required Qualifications
- Experience in QA or software testing
- Ability to design and execute manual test plans and exploratory testing
- Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for simple automation
- Understanding of mortgage/loan origination processes (processing, underwriting, closing) is a plus
- Strong written communication for bug reports and test plans
- Capability to read JSON and inspect API responses; comfortable with developer tools
