QA Engineer (Fluent in German) (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Design, execute, and document test cases for public-sector administrative systems supporting education, public safety, and e-government. Create test concepts, plans, and structured documentation while performing functional, regression, integration, and acceptance testing. Collaborate with developers and analysts to define quality standards, monitor defects, and improve test management processes. Manage automation scripts and frameworks where applicable, ensuring compliance with public-sector standards and traceability. Requires ISTQB certification, 3+ years testing experience, and B2 German/English proficiency. Full-time role with hybrid/remote options, 30 days vacation, and educational budget.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- At least 3 years of professional experience in software testing or similar positions
- Experience in software testing, test management, and test conception
- Familiarity with agile and classic process models (Scrum, Kanban, V-model, waterfall)
- Proficiency in German and English (B2 and above)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Team-oriented and structured working style
Desired Qualifications
- ISTQB certification (Foundation or higher) — ideal
- Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
- Experience with API testing and performance testing
- Familiarity with test management tools (Jira, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail)
- Experience working in regulated or public-sector environments
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of SQL and data validation
- Experience with Git and modern development practices
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools
