Job Summary

Design, scale, and maintain stable end-to-end and integration testing frameworks using Playwright. Write clean, modular automated test scripts in Python and integrate suites into DevOps pipelines. Actively debug flaky tests, optimize execution speed, and implement stable locator strategies. Partner with developers, product managers, and manual QA peers in an Agile/Scrum environment to review requirements and define comprehensive test strategies. This hybrid role requires three days in the downtown Chicago office. Candidates must have three to five years of experience with Playwright and Python, including expertise in the Page Object Model and CI/CD platforms. Halo offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $100,000 plus an annual bonus, alongside comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and flexible PTO.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in Software Test Automation / Quality Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building test suites with Playwright
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Proven experience configuring test execution inside CI tools (e.g., managing pipeline triggers, matrices, and test artifacts/traces)
  • Expert knowledge of the Page Object Model (POM), data-driven testing, test isolation, and API testing
  • Teamwork and excellent communication skills required, in order to report bugs articulately and collaborate across technical teams to assist in resolution
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous delivery and driving a culture of software excellence
  • Chicago-based hybrid role, working 3 days/week in Halo's downtown Chicago office

Desired Qualifications

  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and containerization tools like Docker
  • Prior experience in database querying (SQL/NoSQL) to handle automated test data setup and teardown
  • Examples of debugging and root-cause analysis skills to pinpoint failures quickly using Playwright Traces and Inspectors
