Job Summary
Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups, typically in programs with exceptional children or equivalent programs; monitor and report student progress. Tutor individuals or small groups, reinforce and implement instruction, maintain records of progress, participate in instructional teams, and support transportation, lesson preparation, test administration and scoring, IEP-related tasks, behavior monitoring, lab supervision, classroom materials preparation, and routine clerical duties. Communicate with parents and collaborate with teachers to meet student needs, ensuring health and safety and supporting field trips and emergency drills.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 48 college credit hours or a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment
- one year experience working with children in an organized setting
