Job Summary
Design, optimize, and support software connecting Graphcore accelerators with PyTorch frameworks, focusing on upstream contributions, custom kernels, and compiler backend integration for torch.compile. Coordinate technical tasks, review code, and improve team build processes across Python, C++, and complex open source codebases. You will shape compatibility, performance, and developer experience for ML engineers and researchers while mentoring others and driving practical progress within a SCRUM team.
Required Qualifications
- Strong software engineering skills across complex systems
- Experience building in Python
- Experience building in performant C++
- Experience in a commercial setting
- Confidence with linear algebra
- Confidence with floating-point arithmetic
- Strong git skills
- Ability to conduct code review in a commercial engineering team
- Ability to investigate unfamiliar, large or open source codebases
- Ability to write clear technical documentation
- Experience in at least one of ML kernels, compiler development, ML frameworks or computationally intensive engineering
