Job Summary
Design and build new backend services in a microservice, event-driven environment, prioritizing reliability. Coordinate architecture and integrations across the Core and RBB teams to ensure consistent cross-team delivery. Lead delivery of major new service lines, such as collections or cross-matching graphs, while owning key components in the existing architecture. Establish technical leadership in new domains, design service communication patterns, and instrument services with metrics for monitoring and alerting. Resolve technical debt and architectural bottlenecks, and build shared libraries to reduce dependency on core developers for scaling work. Requires 3+ years of Python production experience with microservices and event-driven systems like Kafka.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of production experience as a Python backend developer
- Strong Python: typing, testing, packaging, asyncio, threading, multiprocessing
- Production experience with microservice architecture
- Familiarity with event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably on AWS EKS
Desired Qualifications
- A plus if you also bring AWS and Terraform, domain-driven design, a statically typed compiled language, hands-on work in finance, antifraud or risk, or exposure to graph databases and graph-based data models
