Job Summary

Design, develop, and enhance Python-based applications, automation frameworks, APIs, and scheduled workflows supporting trading, risk, operations, reporting, and analytics functions. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver requirements per acceptance criteria and compliance standards while designing architecture components and application interfaces. Mentor engineers on CI/CD practices and automate tool stacks, executing story refinement and proof-of-concept work to mitigate risk. Develop and maintain automated test suites for integration, regression, and performance, ensuring high-quality delivery on the Quartz platform. This role contributes to platform modernization and cloud-native adoption efforts within Bank of America's front-office trading environment, specifically targeting index trading and quantitative investment products.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python development
  • Experience developing enterprise applications on Quartz or similar distributed computing platforms (Athena or SecDB)
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures
  • Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, commodities markets, trading, and risk
  • Experience supporting index trading, index calculation platforms, index lifecycle management, commodity indices, or quantitative investment strategy (QIS) products
  • Knowledge of index construction methodologies, rebalancing processes, index maintenance, and trade execution workflows
  • Knowledge of Quartz services, job scheduling, orchestration, and distributed computing concepts
  • Familiarity with messaging systems, event-driven architectures, and workflow automation
  • Experience with data processing frameworks and large-scale datasets
  • Experience supporting production applications with strict availability requirements
