Job Summary
Purser on a vessel responsible for the administration of duties, assisting the Captain and managers, vessel reporting, and acting as primary Safety Officer onboard. Duties include assigning rooms and crew lists, inventory and ordering of office and medical supplies, processing fish through factory onboard, enforcing company policies, handling petty cash, and daily communication with the Captain and department heads on production, quality, and safety. 3–5 hours of shift spent in the factory assisting with processing; must lift 50+ lbs, work in -20 to -30 degrees with proper equipment, live and work in tight quarters, and be medically trained (MEDPIC). High School Diploma or GED required; minimum three years purser experience on sea-going vessels; capable of handling confidential matters and meeting deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED certificate is required
- Minimum three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a purser role aboard a sea-going vessel
- Medically trained (MEDPIC)
