Job Summary
Conduct vessel operations support, manage food and beverage service, and oversee supply inventory and reconciliation. Greet passengers, check them in, and ensure safety through constant situational awareness, lifeguarding, and first aid administration. Maintain all food preparation areas, clean the vessel, and handle docking and mooring duties as directed. Process point-of-sale transactions and manage sales equipment while upholding Hawaiian hospitality standards. Work long days aboard a moving vessel in hot conditions, performing physical tasks including lifting and line handling. Obtain required certifications within three months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- A genuine host at heart, with natural warmth and a passion for sharing Hawaiian-style hospitality and Maui's spirit with every guest.
- Extensive hands-on experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, or guest-facing roles - in lieu of formal education.
- Working knowledge of Hawaiian hospitality traditions and the aloha spirit; may be gained through lived experience, cultural practice, or formal study.
- Familiarity with Native Hawaiian culture and place-based knowledge of Maui strongly preferred.
- Experience on the ocean and/or working on boats (preferred).
- Brings a can-do attitude and the flexibility of someone used to adapting to guests' needs and the day's changing conditions - able to shift gears quickly, solve problems on the fly, and keep the guest experience seamless.
- First Aid/CPR, Lifeguard, Oxygen and AED certifications, Hawaii Food Handlers Certification and Maui Bar Card holder required within 3 months of hire.
- Lifeguarding experience (preferred).
- All applicants are subject to a background check and pre-employment drug testing and must be able to comply with DOT/USCG random drug testing requirements.
- Within 30 days of employment, must obtain CPR/First Aid certification, oxygen/AED certification, lifeguard certification, Hawai'i bar card, and TB clearance.
