Purification Technician

Job Summary
Conduct post-synthesis processing, including cleavage, deprotection, drying, and formulation of oligonucleotide products. Perform purification processes such as HPLC, PAGE, and desalting while adhering to approved work instructions. Prepare buffers, operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues. Complete batch records, utilize the LIMS for order tracking, and maintain a 5S-compliant workspace. Follow all safety protocols, including PPE and hazardous materials handling, and complete required training like annual RCRA awareness. Work in a fast-paced production environment operating around the clock with a fixed shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field; or equivalent directly related experience
- Ability to perform under pressure of a fast paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures and accurately complete documentation
- Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to lift 35+ pounds and stand for extended periods
- Regular: Mon - Fri 7:00-15:30 / Mon - Fri 15:00-23:30 / Mon - Fri 23:00-7:30
- Training: Mon - Fri 8:00 - 16:30
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an ISO-13485 or cGMP environment
- Experience using LIMS or similar laboratory data system
- Basic understanding of laboratory equipment and scientific principles
- Familiarity with HPLC, LC-MS, UV spectroscopy, or related analytical methods
- Experience with oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, or molecular biology techniques
- Experience handling hazardous chemicals
