Job Summary
Purchasing Technician responsible for creating purchase orders, assisting the Purchasing Officer with P-card reconciliation, reviewing and coding invoices, and handling accounts payable tasks such as processing utility and club checks. Tasks include reviewing receipts, assigning object codes/department numbers, ensuring accuracy per state guidelines, running monthly efficiency reports, establishing spend-control profiles, maintaining P-card shortcuts and vendor/vendor setup in Ellucian, reviewing requisitions and quotes, determining payment method (P-card, direct pay, or PO), researching sole source documents and contracts, and processing vendor communications and approvals. The role requires high-level customer service and adherence to state and federal laws, with duties spanning PO creation, invoice accuracy checks, monthly reporting, and professional development through training and webinars.
