Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day purchasing for raw materials, components, and equipment by reviewing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating inventory-related orders with suppliers in China and Taiwan. Monitor open orders, lead times, and delivery schedules while following up directly with vendors to ensure timely arrivals and escalate potential delays. Supervise team members by assigning priorities, reviewing work for accuracy, and coaching on procedures and supplier communication. Analyze historical data and pricing trends using Excel to identify cost savings and communicate material shortages to management. Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and support process improvements to strengthen procurement operations.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
- Associate's degree with relevant purchasing/procurement experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising, training, or leading purchasing employees
- Experience purchasing raw materials, components, or production-related supplies
- Experience working with international suppliers, particularly suppliers in China and/or Taiwan
- Mandarin Chinese proficiency
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders and following orders through delivery
- Strong supplier communication and relationship-management skills
- Experience resolving supplier issues involving pricing, shortages, delays, claims, returns, or quality concerns
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to analyze purchasing and inventory information
- Experience with ERP/MRP or purchasing systems
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
