Job Summary
Purchasing specialist responsible for ordering hospital supplies, supervising inbound/outbound materials, maintaining inventory with focus on expiration dates, stock counts, rate of refill, and cost; coordinate inbound and outbound traffic to maximize cost-effectiveness; provide supply-chain insights to executives and department heads to ensure solutions are met; develop and maintain vendor relations to secure best rates; ensure purchase orders are completed in a timely manner; work with internal customers to resolve order issues and maintain efficient flow of requisitions; requires a high school diploma (Bachelor's preferred) and healthcare/supply chain experience; proficient with Microsoft Office 365; strong attention to detail and communication/problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
- 2 years of experience in supply chain
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 365
- Working knowledge of medical supplies
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
