Job Summary
Track open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and proactively resolve shipping or delivery issues. Monitor vendor order status, communicate delivery schedules to internal departments, and maintain accurate ERP data for suppliers and inventory. Review and revise purchase orders, reconcile discrepancies with invoices and shipping documentation, and investigate pricing or billing errors. Coordinate returns, warranty claims, and supplier credits while verifying deliveries with Receiving to document shortages or damages. Monitor in-house fabricated component inventory levels, analyze trends to minimize excess stock, and communicate supply concerns with Production and Sales. Collaborate with Engineering on part revisions and assist Sales with part availability information. Build positive relationships with suppliers and recommend process improvements to enhance material flow and purchasing efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret inventory reports, purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documents
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
- Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
- Frequent use of computers and office equipment
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- Ability to access manufacturing and warehouse areas as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in production planning, purchasing, inventory control, or manufacturing
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and purchasing principles
- Strong customer service mindset with both internal and external customers
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
