Job Summary
Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost and quality while managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts for raw materials and components. Oversee inventory levels to ensure timely procurement meets production schedules, collaborate with engineering and production to source new materials and technologies, and analyze market trends to forecast costs and availability. Lead and mentor a team of purchasing agents and buyers within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration and 5+ years of experience in purchasing, with strong ERP system proficiency and a proven track record of cost-saving strategies. Preferred certifications include CPIM or CPSM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and managing vendor relationships
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and procurement software
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends and implement cost-saving strategies
