Job Summary
Purchasing Manager responsible for developing purchasing department policies, overseeing buyers and branch personnel, and guiding vendor selection and contract negotiations. Lead the RFP process, evaluate vendor capabilities with a scorecard, establish and maintain vendor/agent relationships, balance cash flow with price savings, review purchasing documents, and manage inventory to ensure adequate supply. Participation in product line consolidation, pricing review, and implementation of Inventory targets. Provide management with summary reports, travel to purchasing meetings and NAED/vendor events, and drive continuous improvement in purchasing, negotiation, and communication skills across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Four year college degree preferred with a minimum of 2-year associates degree or equivalent from a college or technical school
- Minimum of 4 years of industry related experience, such as product, sales, purchasing, project or operations
- Proven negotiating and contract writing skills
- Highly effective communicator, both verbal and written, and advanced management or supervisory experience
- Eclipse experience preferred
