Job Summary
Manage procurement of raw materials and trading products to meet production and sales needs while leading the purchasing team and executing the procurement plan. Source and negotiate with suppliers for optimal pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules, and plan logistics for imported materials ensuring compliance with Customs and SST regulations. Monitor stock levels to avoid production downtime, evaluate supplier performance against pricing, timelines, and quality, and review technical documents for RoHS and safety compliance. Handle vendor claims, manage purchase documentation, and act as a liaison with Customs, MIDA, and other authorities. Maintain adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety policies and participate in relevant audits and training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related fields
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar purchasing/procurement managerial role within the manufacturing industry
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities in English (written and spoken)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and reporting tools
- Experience with imports, customs, and logistics procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with SIRIM audits and certification processes
