Job Summary
Purchasing Manager responsible for sourcing materials, managing inventory levels, and optimizing inventory for production/customer needs and cash flow. Leads strategic procurement across multiple categories, negotiates favorable pricing and terms, and identifies alternative suppliers. Develops long-term purchasing strategy, meets with vendors, sources new suppliers, tracks inventories, and recommends timely purchases. Manages supplier relations and negotiates contracts and timelines; oversees contract implementation and stakeholder collaboration. Drives continuous improvement to deliver value beyond price, processes purchase requisitions and orders, and coordinates with internal/external customers per corporate procurement guidelines. Oversees a team that processes purchase orders, tracks receipt, and approves invoices; maintains supplier database and inventory-optimization records by SKU, including min/max/lead time/EOQ. Coordinates with stakeholders to determine inventory needs and handles additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Requires understanding of purchasing practices and use of accounting
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to securely organize and document data
- Ability to communicate with internally / externally written and verbal
