Job Summary
Purchasing Manager overseeing strategic procurement and global supply chain initiatives for purchased finished goods, driving inventory optimization, cost savings, supplier relationships, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure uninterrupted supply of critical materials, with leadership of a procurement team and focus on strategic planning balanced with operational execution in the healthcare/science/industrial environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8 years of experience in procurement/sourcing/supply chain in global distribution or manufacturing environment
- APICS, CPSM or equivalent professional certification preferred
- 3-5 years of people management experience leading procurement teams
- ERP systems experience (E1 preferred) and MRP processes
- Experience delivering cost savings and process improvements
- Experience developing and implementing procurement strategies and policies
- Supplier relationships management and contract negotiation
- Analytical and data-driven decision making
- Inventory optimization techniques (JIT, consignment, global distribution)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in life sciences/pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Cross-functional collaboration and matrix leadership
- Project management and change management capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement analytics tools
- Clear communication and presentation skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement
