Purchasing Manager

Purchasing Manager position in Gainesville, FL responsible for vendor selection, negotiation, and establishment/maintenance of all purchased materials, supplies, equipment and services. Key duties include negotiating with vendors, establishing purchasing policies, examining bids, reviewing product use and purchase volumes, negotiating blanket purchase orders, coordinating with receiving to ensure proper supplies, resolving invoice discrepancies, tracing delinquent deliveries, working with Quality Assurance to qualify vendors, and holding vendors accountable for terms. Requires consistent reliable transportation, attendance, and some travel. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, at least five years of purchasing experience, at least two years of supervisory experience, ability to supervise and delegate, report preparation, analytical skills, time-management, strong customer service, MS Office proficiency, and a valid driver’s license.
