Job Summary

Develops and manages all aspects of procurement for materials, supplies, and services, leading cost-reduction projects and supplier relationship initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws while obtaining purchasing specifications and facilitating purchase documents. Functions as a procurement resource for management to optimize pricing, quality, and delivery, working collaboratively with group purchasing organizations. Prepares detailed analysis reports on purchased goods, maintains vendor evaluation programs, and manages departmental budgets within approved constraints. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and educates staff on purchasing protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in the health-care sector.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field.
  • A minimum of five years healthcare purchasing experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of procurement fundamentals such as data systems, procurement reporting and procurement authorization processes is required.
  • Experience supervising other purchasing staff in a department setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflows.
  • Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment with constant changing priorities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Fulfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with the 340B Drug Pricing Program preferred.
  • Experience with drug and vaccine procurement preferred.
  • Master's degree in related field is a plus.
  • Certification in Supply Change Management or other procurement training is a plus.
  • Prior work experience working at a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) is highly desired.
  • Experience with the 340B Drug Pricing Program is highly desired and preferred.
  • Experience with drug and vaccine procurement is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing contracts, negotiating pricing, and working with GPOs strongly preferred.
