Job Summary
Seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead strategic sourcing, procurement, and raw-material management for a metals-focused manufacturing operation. Responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies for carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, and nickel alloys; managing supplier performance, negotiations, and contract administration; implementing vendor-managed inventory and risk-mitigation initiatives; aligning purchasing with S&OP forecasts; and driving cost savings, supplier development, and continuous improvement across ERP-enabled processes. Requires 5–10 years of leadership in procurement within metals/manufacturing, a Bachelor’s degree, Oracle ERP experience, and strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Travel to supplier and vendor locations (domestic and international) is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management)
- 5–10 years of progressive procurement/sourcing/purchasing leadership experience in manufacturing/metals/industrial distribution
- Experience sourcing metals and industrial raw materials (steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, nickel alloys)
- ERP/MRP systems experience (Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to negotiate complex supply agreements and deliver measurable cost reductions
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or APICS preferred
