Job Summary
Purchasing Manager responsible for commodity raw material purchasing, MRO procurement, supplier management, and SAP ByDesign-based procurement workflows in a manufacturing environment. Lead negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and finance to optimize procurement and inventory. Manage international procurement, landed costs, freight/logistics coordination, and ERP-driven purchasing processes while overseeing supplier performance and maintaining a Qualified Vendor List (QVL). In-person role based in Northbridge, MA with emphasis on strategic sourcing, vendor management, and operational profitability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, industrial, steel, wire, metals, or related industries
- Strong experience in commodity purchasing and MRO procurement
- ERP experience required; SAP Business ByDesign or SAP experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience with industrial inventory management and procurement planning
- Familiarity with international sourcing and logistics preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Advanced Excel and purchasing data analysis experience preferred
