Job Summary
Develop and execute purchasing strategies while forecasting price and market trends to identify shifts in buyer-supplier power. Review purchase requests, approve orders maintaining SOX compliance, and oversee receiving functions for incoming goods. Negotiate contracts proactively with suppliers to identify annual cost savings through price negotiations and lean initiatives. Qualify and monitor supplier compliance for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications. Forecast monthly supply and utility spend, reporting daily and weekly actuals to management while adjusting for business conditions. Work with divisional procurement on utility contracts and seasonal price hedging. Working onsite from Newnan, Georgia, M-F 8:00a-5:00p.
Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Contract negotiation skills
- Analytical abilities
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration, or related field
- Proven working experience as a Purchasing Manager
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret purchase agreements
- A knack for negotiation and networking
- Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as JDE or Oracle
- Working onsite from Newnan Georgia location M-F 8:00a-5:00p
Desired Qualifications
- Institute for Supply Management certification such as CPSM or CPSD a plus
