Job Summary
Conduct all food and non-food purchasing for operational needs, securing best quality at the best price through constant market surveillance and direct supplier negotiations. Obtain at least three quotations per purchase request, verify goods via samples, and manage store space adherence to FIFO systems while collaborating with the storekeeper. Maintain up-to-date filing records on suppliers, prices, and quantities, ensuring all orders have General Manager approval. Submit ideas and new product alternatives to management, keeping them informed of market happenings, shortages, and seasonal changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge and experience in Food & Beverage procurement, including sourcing, supplier selection, and cost management
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management
- Strong understanding of inventory management, purchasing controls, budgeting, and cost optimization
- Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrates leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing purchasing team
- Fluency in English is essential
- Is not allowed to take any commissions, personal advantages or gifts offered by any supplier
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of GCC procurement practices and supplier markets is highly desirable
- Arabic is an advantage
