Job Summary
Purchasing / Inventory Coordinator to support purchasing operations, inbound/outbound freight tracking, and inventory management at UFP Site Built in Lafayette, CO. Responsibilities include tracking purchase orders and shipments, coordinating freight, initiating and following up on POs, resolving receiving discrepancies, preparing reports and market data to support purchasing decisions, and supervising plant inventory levels to meet turnover targets. Works with GMO, Plant Manager, suppliers, and internal teams to optimize inventory, maintain material flow, and assist with cost control and process improvements. Requires collaboration across purchasing, production, and sales, with a focus on vendor communication, market trends, inventory reporting, and utilization of Excel/ERP systems; prior experience in purchasing construction materials or lumber and a minimum of two years in purchasing or inventory management is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing, inventory management, or manufacturing experience
- Experience purchasing construction materials or lumber (preferred)
- Customer service experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills preferred
- Understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain processes
- Knowledge of panel/lumber grades, lumber math, and cuts/yields (preferred)
- Ability to analyze data and apply business math to operations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
