Job Summary
Coordinate purchasing strategies across NJ and CA locations by sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers for high-quality ingredients, packaging, and operational supplies. Place and manage purchase orders in alignment with production schedules, inventory levels, and forecasts while monitoring open orders to resolve supply delays or quality issues. Maintain accurate procurement records in the ERP system and build strong relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders across departments. Collaborate with operations, R&D, and quality assurance teams to ensure purchased products meet specifications and food safety standards, while assisting in cost-saving initiatives and supplier consolidation. Support bi-coastal coordination of raw materials to optimize inventory and reduce waste. Requires Bachelor's degree in Food Science or equivalent, 3+ years in food labeling compliance, and ability to travel 20–30% between East and West Coast facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in food labeling compliance and regulatory affairs within the food manufacturing industry
- Strong working knowledge of FDA and USDA food labeling regulations
- Ability to travel 20–30% as business needs require
- Regular travel between East and West Coast manufacturing facilities to support procurement activities, supplier management, production needs, and cross-functional projects
- Occasional travel to supplier locations, industry trade shows, and business meetings
- Ability to work in-person from either locations is required
