Job Summary
Execute purchase orders for mechanical parts, finished goods, and office consumables while negotiating vendor quotes and delivery terms. Track purchase orders to ensure accurate pricing and delivery dates, then coordinate with engineering, project management, and vendors to resolve shortages or quality issues. Maintain purchasing records, contracts, and pricing data in ERP and SAP systems to report on order status and spend performance. Assist in procurement process improvements and ensure compliance with purchasing policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum 3 years of experience purchasing mechanical/electrical components, MRO goods and services, construction services, or similar experience with vendor engagement and order processing
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
- Ability to effectively collaborate with others to resolve conflict
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamental economics
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
