Job Summary

Generate purchase orders ensuring they are complete, valid, and approved in a timely manner, then expedites orders using EDI, AutoFax, and online requisitions. Confirm price, quantity, specifications, and delivery dates, contacting vendors for any delays. Notify departments immediately of open orders, credit holds, or back orders, and update databases to maintain current information and resolve stock-outs. Process invoice discrepancies, coordinate returns within 30 working days, and manage contract expiration dates. Assist Facilities with inventory control, order processing, and supply resource research while answering customer inquiries. Complete required training and adhere to hospital policies and patient privacy procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Associate's Degree
  • 2 years of purchasing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience creating spreadsheets for analyzing information
  • Ability to push/pull
  • Ability to lift/move 35 lb.
  • Ability to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers
  • Ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time
  • Ability to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance
  • Ability to comprehend the spoken English language
  • Ability to communicate and read the English language
